Happy Birthday to Me
On Friday the 13th, I turned 21! So in honor of my turning 21 we had an Apple Beer (for those non-Utahns, that's not actually an alcoholic beverage...it's like carbonated apple juice) party to celebrate. It was great fun, but the best part of my birthday came Tuesday the 3rd. I had a super long day at work and was home asleep on the couch when Ben came home with company, in the form of Scott, Tim, Drew, and Jon. He woke me up and I was really disoriented so I didn't figure it out until Tim came tripping through the doorway with one end of a PIANO!!! I have a piano of my very own courtesy of the best husband in the whole world! It's a Janssen, and the touch is fabulous. It's almost like playing on my mom's piano. I immediately called my mom crying from excitement and joy, and every time I walk past it I can't help but smile. Here's a couple pictures of it. As you can see, I couldn't even wait long enough to take pictures before I pulled all of my music out and played it for about an hour.

Mother's Day Bouquet
For Mother's Day Tasha got the crazy idea to make one of those edible fruit bouquets for my mom. I seriously have no idea here it came from, but whatever. She did a practice one last week and it turned out well, so last night until the wee hours of the morning she put together an awesome bouquet.

...as well as when she got it done (you'll notice that it says 2:12, as in 2:12 in the morning)...
...and some other pics

We are happy to report that my mom loved it! It was delicious too...
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOMS!!!

Here are some pics of the disaster area that was our kitchen while it was being made...

Here We Go
So, I'm pretty sure the reason that I'm doing this is because my dad took so many pictures and videos of my life growing up that I want to keep the recorded history going...and I'm just acting on a whim in the wee hours of the morning while Tasha works on a Mother's Day present for my mom. Not hers, mine...what a wonderful husband I am :)
Let's get things started with a current status report:
I'm currently at BYU and I just got accepted into the music education program. I play sax and want to be a band teacher. That's right, a band teacher. Thanks to my recent acceptance into the program I get the privilege of attending school both spring and summer. Ugh. There's a very important reason why but if you want the full story you're going to have to call me, its hard to explain in a blog. I work at BYU doing media installation which basically means that I get paid to put holes in walls at fiddle around with really sweet media equipment. I also work for a startup company as a "reseller recruiter." Basically I'm in a call center.
Tasha is awesome...that's all there is to it. She works as an optician and is amazing at what she does. She's been on a break from school but we're hoping to get her back in this fall. She's at UVU studying choral education. She's got an amazing voice and she's drop dead gorgeous. How lucky can I get?
We'll see how long this thing lasts I guess. I think we'll both be posting but I'll probably be doing more. Hopefully we'll update it on a regular basis.
-Ben
